Day One was created as part of a 6-part short series called The Egg. The series covers six different storylines with characters affected by the arrival of a mysterious alien egg. The giant egg emerges from the ground of a Y2K warehouse party on New Year's Eve 1999 with all characters in attendance.
Day One follows two adoptive brothers, Carlos and Sameer, who wake up the morning after the party with no memory of each other. Their party stamps−which are now permanent tattoos, a couple chance encounters, and various flashbacks lead them to the discover that they had some kind of relation to one other. Carlos, the young, responsible lawyer thinks he only worked on Sameer's cases while Sameer, the irresponsible petty criminal realizes they were brothers. In the end, he stays silent and watches Carlos walk away, hopefully to a life that's better without him in it.
